1. Which building typology you are researching?
- The type of building I would like to design on this site is a Sports/Rental Center. The peninsula shape to the site makes it perfect for a mix of land and water sports.
2. Why are you researching this building typology?
- I have always loved to play every type of sport, in water or on land. After some research there isn't anything like this project in the area making it the perfect type of building.
3. What is the specialty of this building type you would like to research?
- Sports/Rental Center for bringing the community closer together.

5. What are your goals working with this building type?
- My goal for this type of building will to draw more tourists and money into the area. This is a poorer area and I think this type of Center can bring people closer together.
6. What are the program elements that you see included at this point in your building?
- Sports/Rental Center for renting Boats/ Jet Skies, Batting Cages, Basketball Court, Mini Soccer/Football Field, Golfing Range, Sand Area. and Arcade Area.

Try to explore other parts of the world that have similar sporting centers adjacent to the waters edge. I really want to see the connection of the building, its use and the water front.
ReplyDeleteAlso explore the Brooklyn Bridge park and the link along the waters edge.
Where is the site analysis. How do you justify this type of building?
ReplyDeleteGiven the current push to take the waterfront back for the public by the City of New York I think this project can be quite successful.
